BioShock is the game which played a major part in bringing back the gaming spark within me. It was the first game I ever bought for the PS3, and introduced me to the next generation of graphics, and gameplay in a way I never thought possible. Set in the dystopian steampunk city of Rapture, BioShock combines an amazing taste for aesthetics with a disturbing amount of attention to detail, especially in the department of the decay of the city of Rapture. The fact that it was a first person shooter detracted from its value in my eyes, but the roleplaying elements of the game, such as plasmids and weapon upgrades, made it quite simple to overlook that uncomfortable issue.
